I have been a student of Yoga for over 4 years now. I know that it has helped me immensely both physically as well as mentally. As we know, learning requires help of a good teacher and role model. I am fortunate to have found that and much more in Cheryl Crosby. Cheryl is one of the most compassionate pleasant and empathetic teachers I have ever encountered. Her classes are always full – Enthusiasm galore!! I wish to not only to recommend her as a ‘gem’ in the field of Yoga but also nutrition, meditation and general wellness. Cheryl, sincere thanks for all that you have done to help me. …Namaste!

I began taking yoga classes with Cheryl 10 years ago and was immediately drawn to her warm and joyful personality. The positive energy that she radiates is inspiring. Cheryl’s yoga classes offer the perfect balance of mind, body and spirit. She guides us through the postures with careful attention to every detail from the breath, to mental focus, to each part of the body, ensuring that we derive the maximum benefit from each posture. Somehow Cheryl has the ability to make you feel like the classes have been tailored to your own individual needs.
Through the years I have gained improved posture, core strength, flexibility and balance. I soon learned to become aware of the tension that I was holding in my body in my day to day life and to release it. I used to feel like I always needed to be busy in order to feel productive. I have learned to slow down and allow myself to enjoy the pauses in life without judgement or guilt.
Cheryl’s classes have opened up the world of yoga to me. I realize that there is so much to learn and that I have barely scratched the surface. I can’t imagine my future without it.

Now that I read your article (Mindfulness Article GoodLife Magazine Fall 2013, York Region) I seem to have belonged in the category of rushing through life and always thinking of the future rather than living in the present. You have taught us through your gentle teachings of Yoga and Meditation that it is OK to give yourself some time and not feel guilty about it. Even more important is that you have made us realize that Yoga can be practised by every person, despite their individual handicaps. It is not what you cannot do, but what you can do with whatever you are endowed with. People always had the fear in the past that they were not capable of doing all the complicated yoga asanas at their age. They felt ridiculed if they could not achieve all the positions. It is your continued teachings that Yoga practise is not simply a physical exercise synchronized with breathing, but it is a trinity of the body, soul and mind, and that something reaches the inner soul of the person, making that individual less judgmental, less competitive, more forgiving, open to other foreign cultures, more kind to their neighbour and finally, above all, less materialistic in their individual life in this consumer driven world of ours. Congratulations and keep up the good work.
